In this interactive session hosted by Dr. Nicole Furlonge, director of the Klingenstein Center and Dr. Anne-Marie Balzano, Senior Governance Strategist at Mission & Data, we will explore the forces defining the future of headship, leadership sustainability, and the implications for both current and aspiring school leaders. Data from several studies, including the NAIS reports "Head Turnover at Independent Schools: Sustaining School Leadership" and "What are Boards Searching for When They Hire an Independent School Leader?" will also be presented. Using the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) Learning Framework 2030, participants will engage in small group discussions to examine how the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values students need to thrive in an uncertain world can inform how we lead independent schools in the future.
